Research Technician II
Tissue Repair
Full-Time
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with and provide support to other lab personnel including Research Technician/graduate student/postdocs to complete science-based projects.
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Technical proficiency and ability to work independently.
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office.
- Capable of meeting time demands necessary to execute experiments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory work and experiments.
- Keep inventory of and maintain animal colonies.
- Assist with maintenance of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocols.
- Keep inventory of laboratory supplies, including controlled substances, and place laboratory orders.
- Ensure that work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, effective and efficient environment.
- Completion of all trainings related to work in a timely manner, including C14, animal usage, handling hazardous material, and laboratory safety.
- Participate in establishing job requirements and goals; perform duties as assigned at the desired level of competency.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology or other relevant biomedical area
Experience:
- Preference will be given to candidates with 2-4 years’ experience in related laboratory research
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior rodent handling experience
- Some experience with research methodology, statistics, and manuscript preparation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Skills required:
- Good interpersonal skills, detail oriented and organized
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient use of computers and software
