The Nguyen lab in the Department of Pharmacology and Vanderbilt Brain Institute studies mechanisms of hyperexcitability in the brain. Our lab utilizes approaches such as ex vivo and in vivo electrophysiology, 2-photon calcium imaging, closed-loop optogenetics, and EEG recording in mice to understand neuronal function and how it goes awry in disorders such as epilepsy.
The position calls for a motivated biological scientist to join the team. The Research Specialist will be a key contributor to support the lab’s goals and will be directly involved in the planning, execution, and analysis of experiments in the lab working alongside the principal investigator of the lab as well as fellow students and researchers. Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team is expected. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to interface with members of the greater neuroscience community at Vanderbilt and beyond at collaborating institutions and research entities.
