TheLi lab studies how Fatty acid binding proteins (FABPs) regulate cell metabolismand intracellular signal transduction pathways in leukocytes and determines themechanisms by which FABPs link high fat diets, lipid metabolism and complexdiseases (Cell, 2020; 182:1066, Cell metabolism; 2018;28:689). The ResearchScientist position will require the candidates to determine the crosstalk ofimmune cells and tumor cells by focusing on cell metabolism and signalingtransduction pathways.

- Design and perform assigned projects
- Maintain accurate and complete work records
- Tabulates experimental results and analyze data
- Assist with protocol development and troubleshooting
- Manuscript preparation and revision
- New lab staff and student training
Minimum Hiring Standards:
- Master'sdegree in Immunology and Related field of science
- Excellentcommunication and writing skills in English
- Must have a demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in past experiences or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
Preferred Hiring Standards:
- Demonstratedexpertise in mouse models, cellular and Molecular immunology, flow cytometry,real-time PCR, Western blot, and other common skills in cell biology andMolecular Biology
- Specialconsideration will be given to candidates who will work independently withenthusiasm and self-motivation, and ability to solve problems that may ariseduring experiments
