Summary: Metrodora Institute is seeking a full-time Research Lab Associate to support its biobank. Candidate must have experience working at the bench and comfortable handling human specimens. Compliance with operating in a BSL2 laboratory, aseptic technique, and using LIMS software for tracking specimen is required. Familiarity with isolation and cryopreservation methods for peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) is required.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting Metrodora Institute’s research enterprise with its biobanking efforts including: accessioning, preparing, processing, and shipping/storage of specimens/samples accurately under well-defined requirements.
- Skillset in whole blood and biofluid sample processing, specializing in PBMC and bone marrow isolation and cryopreservation.
- Tracking sample processing data and entering them into a database. Maintaining all forms and documents including master subject logs.
- Follow SOP prepared from source documents for research studies as directed.
- Maintaining lab equipment and other lab maintenance logs.
- Assist with taking inventory of lab reagents and order supplies.
- Identify and mitigate risks to ensure accuracy in sample and data storage.
- Extract data from source documents for research studies as directed.
- Work safely under the Metrodora’s quality and safety guidelines with potentially biohazardous biological specimens.
- Work closely with labs and treatment centers across Institute to ensure critical study time points are met.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
