Research Intern
The Research Intern will assist the Meketa corporate leadership and the Private Markets Manager Research staff in developing and executing labor surveys for the private equity marketplace. The primary responsibility of this role will be to work alongside leadership to design and solicit a workforce information survey to private equity managers. Other projects may include updating research material and conducting early private markets due diligence analysis, collecting and analyzing data for research and investment due diligence, as well as maintaining and reviewing private markets databases.
The Intern will work regularly with leadership, private markets analysts, and consultants in carrying out the position’s duties. The Private Markets Research Intern will increase his or her level of knowledge regarding general and alternative investment topics and the investment consulting and management industry.
Responsibilities:
- With labor stakeholders, design a labor survey to solicit critical workforce information from private equity managers
- Engage with private equity managers to refine to survey to ensure that it will be well received in the marketplace broadly.
- Distribute survey and solicit responses from private equity managers.
- Work to refine the survey based on feedback from the marketplace.
- Collect and analyze data for research and investment due diligence
- Update research material
Requirements:
- Progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree with evidence of strong academic achievement.
- Sound understanding of economic and investment theory and practices.
- Ability to gather, organize, and analyze data from disparate sources.
- Strong quantitative skills, including facility with financial and statistical concepts.
- Superb computer skills, including facility with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Skill at analyzing, evaluating, and reviewing quantitative information.
- Excellent attention to detail and organized work habits.
- Ability to work independently as well as with employees across the firm.
