Our faculty and clinicians are globally recognized experts working at the forefront of interdisciplinary biomedical innovation in the fields of cell biology and physiology, cancer biology, developmental biology, environmental science and toxicology, genomics, infectious diseases, neuroscience, nutrition, pharmacology, anesthesiology, radiology, and reproductive biology.
The Research Associate will be responsible for the following:
- molecular biology techniques (e.g., RT-PCR, design and preparation of plasmids)
- in vitro fertilization/breeding and embryo culture – microdissection
- microinjection (e.g., morpholino oligonucleotides, CRISPR/Cas or mRNA reagents)
- RNA in situ hybridization
- cryosections/immunohistochemistry
- purchasing
- equipment maintenance
- environmental health and safety (EHS) compliance, documentation, inspections
- IRB and IACUC documentation
- supervision and training of junior lab members
Other work/responsibilities:
The Research Associate will also
- assist in the development of research projects and hypotheses
- analyze, interpret and evaluate data -process images and compile figures and text for publication and grant submissions
- facilitate collaboration across disciplines (e.g., with computational modelers)
- Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree in developmental biology or related biomedical field
- Experience in Molecular Biology
- Experience in Research Study Design
- Construction of Figures
- Strong Organizational Skills
- Strong oral and written communication
- Experience with aquatic animal models, microinjection and/or confocal microscopy
- Established record of high-quality scientific publications.
