In addition to these direct client services, the NISS Instructor supports continued research and development of innovative best practices in student success.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
The Research Associate (Temp) will support the National Institute for Student Success from May 13, 2024 – Friday August 9, 2024.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Assist with the collection and analysis of data related to student focus groups.
- Manage the initial stages of our Post-Diagnostic & Playbook Survey Design.
- Lead the synthesis and analysis of literature, policy documents, and other written, visual, or auditory materials for Incubator research projects.
- Serve as an author/co-author for Incubator blog posts, manuscripts and other outward facing material.
- Assist with preparing conference abstracts, proposals, and conference presentations.
- Assist in the NISS research documentation process including IRB, IP, and publication support.
- Respond to data requests by identifying the correct data sources and developing the logic to extract the data.
- Perform analyses using various statistical methods.
- Analyze large datasets using statistical software and programming languages such as R, Python, or SPSS to identify trends, patterns, and correlations, and perform hypothesis tests.
- Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality in all aspects of research and data analysis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Masters Required & two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Ph.D. preferred in education, public policy, economics, or related field; can substitute for Masters’ Degree & at least two years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of relational database principles and SQL logic.
- Experience with statistical programming languages such as R or Python for data manipulation and analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Possess strong people skills and the ability to work in a group environment.
- Ability to collaborate with the team in a professional manner.
- Possess strong communication and listening skills.
- Strong time management skills and possess the ability to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks.
- Demonstrate attention to detail.
