Job Description
Research Associate (Clinical) needed to work in Jamaica, NY. Ideal candidates will have two (2) years of experience in multicenter research trial coordination and a bachelors or higher.
Responsibilities:
- Learns and understand the protocol-specific procedures and entry criteria for each clinical trail.
- Work with members of the hospital in order to recruit patients for clinical trials.
- Work with patients, physicians, and other service areas to coordinate protocol-required procedures. Coordinate IRB submissions for externally-sponsored and internal research projects.
- Aid the Institutional Review Board to fulfill its requirements as per the JHMC IRB SOP’s.
- Mentor other members of the hospital community in their efforts to perform research.
- Coordinate submission of abstracts and design posters for conference presentations.
- Review and summarize scientific literature as deemed necessary by the Department Head.
- Attend hospital committee meeting and participate in the quality impro by the improvement project as deem appropriate by the Department Head.
- Collaborate and cooperate with other members of the research team in order to achieve department goals.
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelors Degree Required; Masters Degree, RN, or MBBS preferred
- CCRC preferred
- At least 2 years of prior multicenter research trial coordination experience required (oncology, cardiology, pulmonary, critical care experience preferred).
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong written and oral communication skills with background in medicine of biomedical science. Publication experience preferred.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Ability to learn new software as part of the position, including data entry systems (Rave, Inform, etc).
- Medical knowledge, specifically in the areas of Cardiology, Oncology, Pulmonary and/or Critical Care highly desirable.
