POSITION SUMMARY
The responsibilities of this position are production, bottling, and packaging of methylcellulose, methylcellulose-containing media, and stem cell and gene therapy (SCGT) media. Perform QC testing and analysis of some methylcellulose-containing media. Perform cell culture of multiple cell lines. Production of components for additional stem cell, and non-stem cell kits. Perform additional duties as assigned. Skills used include cell culture, high attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manufacture and bottle all methylcellulose, methylcellulose-containing media, SCGT media, kit components, and custom media requests.
- Prepare chemicals and reagents required for all productions.
- QC testing and analysis of methylcellulose-containing media. Maintain cell lines used for QC process.
- Perform occasional mouse embryo dissection.
- Component and chemical inventory tracking and maintenance.
- Media production for cost savings and lot testing purposes.
- Oral and written communications between multiple departments.
- Assist in production and packing of existing products as needed.
- Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook and follows guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals in accordance to the job.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the biological sciences or equivalent with a minimum of 0 to 2 years laboratory experience. Attention to detail and good organizational skills required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel as well as computer entry and/or typing skills are required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi task, and have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
