Summary
The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research, the world's largest archive of social science data, is now accepting applications for a Data Project Manager to oversee the management of the PEERS Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education data hub and other related education data projects.

You will report to a Project Management and User Support Lead.
Responsibilities*
You will coordinate and monitor across all tasks in the PEERS STEM education data hub and conduct outreach to STEM education research communities to ensure they know about the resource and that it serves their needs. Responsibilities include:
Project Administration
You'll provide administrative and managerial guidance of project activities. You'll ensure that sponsor deliverables are met and on-budget, and communicate with funding organizations on activities of sponsored projects. You'll collaborate with project Principal Investigator on short and long-range planning, including creating budgets for ongoing and new/proposed projects. You'll also monitor project spending.
Data Acquisitions and Management of Confidential Data
You'll review incoming data deposits, and ensure curation work is carried out according to project's priorities and assist data producers in the successful deposit of their data. You'll collect and manage information about potential and existing data depositors, and reach out to potential and existing data depositors. You'll also implement and ensure adherence with policies for handling confidential data.
User Support and Outreach
You'll provide technical assistance to data user and develop promotional materials, coordinate conference arrangements, and present on ICPSR products and archives at conferences and through webinars. You'll ensure archival holdings are relevant to data users and that the research community is aware of products and services available from ICPSR or the project. You'll also engage with Web team and IT to develop, test, and maintain tools, systems, and websites.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, information science, or related field
- 4+ years (2+ years for Associate level) experience related to the responsibilities of the position
- Knowledge of current issues related to data management and archiving
- Experience with statistical applications such as SAS, SPSS, or R
Desired Qualifications*
- Master's degree in education, social sciences, information science, or related field
- Experience with data curation and processes to prepare data for sharing with other researchers
- Knowledge of confidentiality, disclosure, and related issues regarding the distribution of social science data
- Experience in a research setting including a data archive or academic library
Underfill Statement
