REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in a related field.
• Experience in the management of mouse colonies and /or experience in immunological techniques including ELISA, flow cytometry and/or in molecular biology techniques including PCR and/or in microbiology will be preferable.

The applicant will be responsible for the operation of the Transplant Biology Laboratory and under the supervision of Drs. Cascalho and Platt. The duties for the position will include:
Maintaining and oversight of day to day laboratory functions. These duties include supervising the maintenance of the mouse colony, maintaining databases, reagent logs and overseeing sample collection, processing and storage. The applicant will coordinate data collection and will conduct analysis of data. The applicant will develop, design and conduct research experiments in line with plans discussed with PIs, will review progress, evaluate results and help writing reports to grant funding organizations and manuscripts. The applicant is expected to formulate research methods including adapting computational analysis tools and suggest options for improving quality, she/he is expected to identify potential problems and to recommend and implement solutions. Applicant will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all laboratory equipment.
The applicant will train and orient students each semester of the laboratory in equipment operation and laboratory techniques, she/he will help with data processing and the development of new techniques. Oversight of students and access requirements. Applicant will oversee the various supply orders, ensuring supplies are appropriately charged to the numerous grants. He/she will monitor and update all grant spending as additional grant funding is received. He/she will be the primary contact for ULAM, providing direction and updates to the protocols. The applicant will co-author publications and may co-present results with Principal Investigators at meetings and/or conferences.
