Job Title: Weekend Lead Technician
Department: Repair Station
Pay: Hourly
Location: Addison, TX
This position's schedule requires 4-10 hour shifts. 4:00 am -2:30 pm
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have at least 5 years hands-on maintenance of Commercial and Corporate Aircraft or in a Part 145 Repair Station Environment. Line maintenance experience on multiple airframes within a Part 121 or Part 135 environment is a plus.
- Must have an FAA A&P (Aircraft and Powerplant) Certificate or be eligible for a Repairman Certificate. Current experience over the past eighteen months must be verifiable (FAA Requirement)
- Must have strong interpersonal and team building skills;
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Must be able to fluently read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Understand Federal Aviation Regulations, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins and other FAA approved or acceptable data and its usage.
- Able to perform accurate analysis of damage to sheet metal, composite and bonded parts to determine scope of work required, materials required and skill set required in order to accomplish proper repair.
- Flexibility to work changing shifts including on-call / AOG coverage to include nights and weekends, on an as-needed and/or short notice basis.
Job Role:
- The Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing, guiding and orienting Technicians to execute their work in accordance with task requirements and in line with the Company Repair Station procedures and requirements, ensuring compliance to FAA/EASA or other applicable regulations, and in so doing delivering efficient high quality work with safety being their uncompromised priority
- Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with Company policies and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Must adhere to all safety standards established by the Company and regulatory agencies.
- Perform work on customer aircraft or articles as requested.
- Direct Technicians on assignments.
- Ensure all repair requests are served in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure all technical data referenced for repairs is available and current.
- Interpret technical manuals, figures and drawings as needed.
- Comply with quality assurance, accuracy of documentation and auditing of maintenance activity.
- Provide direction, coach and mentor technicians to consistently deliver excellence in their job execution as individuals and team players, ensuring high quality and efficient workmanship for on-time re-delivery of aircraft.
- Supervise and monitor Man Hour utilization in collaboration with Production Planning and Control. Ensure that all labor and materials used are allocated to the proper work order and item number.
- Enforce the requirements of the Repair Station Manual, Federal Aviation Regulations, Airworthiness Directives, Advisory Circulars, Manufacturer'sService Bulletins, Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Aircraft Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), Structural Repair Manual (SRM), and any other required to perform their assigned work. Never begin any maintenance unless in possession of the proper, current and applicable approved or accepted data.
- Monitor schedules and communicate schedule delays in a timely manner.
- Verify that tools required by Technicians are available and if not to work with Stores to provision them prior to commencing the tasks.
- Ensure technicians assigned to tasks are qualified to perform the tasks as assigned.
- Identify training needs for technicians.
- Oversee Technicians to ensure the work area and hangar is kept to the highest standards of safety, compliant at all times, enforcing regulations and practices to avoid accidents. Strictly enforce good housekeeping practices at all times with an objective of securing an environment conducive to employee well-being.
- Report any incident immediately to Quality & Safety in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Scrutinize the proper tagging of Aircraft components, parts and panels appropriately stored.
- Perform other assigned, related duties as directed.
Abilities Required:
The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills, teamwork ability, and a drive/passion for the Aerospace industry. Candidates will be required to show a high level of drive to grow within the repair-engineering world and the company as a whole.
Able to work as a team member, highly organized, work well under stress and handle multiple priorities. Must possess interpersonal and communication skills to interact with other people inside and outside the company.
Must be self-motivated, conscientious and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high stress environment. Candidate will work under very general supervision. Sound judgment, completeness and accuracy are expected. Exercises some latitude in determining activities and approaches to completing assignments.
