About the Position
The primary responsibilities of the Research and Development Associate entail overseeing the Strengthening Families pilot study and Randomized Control Trial (TCT) by daily monitoring data entry in the Program Tracking System (PTS) to identify new participants, ensuring completeness and accuracy of Building Family Strengths Interviews (BFSIs), Post-Surveys, and Group Attendance. Additionally, tracking Gift Cards (GCs) for participants, managing assignments via the Parents Anonymous® ParentConnect App, and providing weekly status updates to staff. Furthermore, weekly tasks include reviewing Survey Follow-Up Reports, delivering reconnect letters to unreachable participants, and assisting in quality assurance protocols for data integrity. Secondary duties involve analyzing support group and Helpline data, creating reports and visualizations, assisting in grant proposals, and summarizing research for diverse audiences.
Specific Job Duties
- Primary focus will be the Strengthening Families pilot study and Randomized Control Trial (RCT), including the following:
- Daily monitor data entered in the Program Tracking System (PTS) to identify new participants added to the pilot or RCT.
- Daily review the identified data to ensure all Building Family Strengths Interviews (BFSIs), Post-Surveys, and Group Attendance are complete and accurate.
- Daily monitor the Gift Cards (GCs) tracking Smartsheet for new BFSIs and completed Post-Surveys for participants in the pilot study and RCT, indicating in PTS when GCs are sent and received (via Target).
- Daily monitor the Parents Anonymous® ParentConnect app to identify and assign pilot and RCT Treatment and Control Group participants to their appropriate teams and ensure all weekly messages, monthly update requests (Follow-Ups), and Post-Survey Reminders are sent and received.
- Weekly review the Survey Follow-Up Report in PTS to identify upcoming Follow-Ups and Reminders.
- Weekly provide staff assigned to pilot study and RCT participants with status updates on Follow-Ups, Reminders, and Post-Survey completion dates to ensure timely completion, communicating all issues with Research and Clinical Services Leadership to be resolved by the assigned staff as necessary.
- Weekly prepare and deliver reconnect letters to pilot study and RCT participants who have been unable to be contacted by other means to regain the connection to participants and ensure the connection remains throughout the study timeline.
- Daily assist in implementing quality assurance protocols for Program Tracking System, reviewing data elements in PTS for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Utilize statistical computer programs to clean and analyze Weekly Evidence-Based Parents Anonymous® support group and Helpline data as needed.
- Create reports, data visualization, and contribute to journal articles as needed.
- Summarize vital Research and create infographics and summaries for website and publications as assigned.
- Assist in drafting Monthly Reports across all Programs as assigned.
- Assist in training Staff on Research protocols for the pilot study, RCT, PTS, and other systems as necessary.
- Assist in researching and preparing grant/contract proposals for local, state, and federal government agencies and private foundations and businesses to ensure accurate and timely completion of grants/contracts when needed.
- Review and summarize vital research, including research related to Parents Anonymous® outcomes, mental health, resiliency, and other key topics for diverse audiences to create infographics and summaries for website and publications when needed.
- Successfully complete initial training and all follow-up training as required.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other assigned Workshops to enhance competencies.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of Parents Anonymous® Inc.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain professional comportment in written and verbal communications.
- Maintain accurate and updated log of accomplished work while scheduled, documenting all work tasks using SMART Goal formula in Team’s Task List.
- Other duties as assigned and prioritized.
Job Requirements
- Graduate degree with 2 years of research experience (or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of research experience).
- Required experience with SPSS, R, or other statistical software.
- Preferred experience with pilot studies, RCTs, and writing publications and proposals.
- Recommended experience working with databases.
- Self-sufficient with reliability to accomplish all communicated tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills while working with staff and at all levels of management.
- Organized, detail-oriented, able to meet deadlines, and follow through on work assignments.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Proficiency in a computer database.
- The ability to work additional days as required.
