Job Title:Associate Development Architect

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Purpose and Objective: 

SAP Labs, LLC seeks an Associate Development Architect at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for the aligned and consistent design and architecture of a product, part of a product or a specific architecture subject (e.g. integration, software lifecycle).

Expectations and Tasks:

Evaluates architecture risks and contributes to effort estimation of backlog items. Translates product requirements into technical requirements and system language. Drives alignment of designs in accordance with the defined Architecture Concept Document, Guidelines and Standards.  Identifies opportunities for reuse of software parts. Collaborates with the developers and architects of the product team/implementation team(s) and contributes to all tasks of implementation team/product team. Supports product owner by ensuring architecture feasibility, readiness and compliance. Monitors implementation of design and architecture concepts together with implementation team. Coaches and consults implementation teams on software engineering aspects. Implements software parts. Identifies improvements and innovations in development processes and methodologies.

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Development, Software Engineering or a related field of study and 6 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. The Company will also accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Development, Software Engineering or a related field of study and 4 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Work Experience:

Experience must involve 4 years in the following:

• Typescript programming language and Angular and UI5 frontend frameworks;
• Programming languages: Java, Javascript, Python, ABAP and Objective-C;
• SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP;
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, SAP HANA, and Redis;
• Programming frameworks – JPA (Hibernate and Eclipselink), Springboot, Flask, BOPF, CDS, OData specification, SAP HANA XSA and SAP Fiori Elements;
• Public cloud knowledge: GCP, Azure and AWS;
• Domain driven design and microservices;
• Infrastructure as code tools, including Terraform and Ansible; and
• Automated testing tools: Junit, Selenium, QUnit, PyTest, ABAP Units and OPA5.

Travel: N/A. Telecommuting permitted.
