Job Brief
We are looking for a passionate Research Analyst to conduct research on internal and external affairs of countries in the region of South Asia and Indo-Pacific area. Research may cover a wide variety of topics relating to domestic politics, geopolitics, international relations, national security, military affairs or similar fields of one or more preferred countries, with in-depth examination on specific issues and perceptive prediction on the development trends. If you are familiar with and interested in producing analytical report on the above-mentioned topics of preferred countries, you can share samples of your work or portfolio of your published articles, along with your application. Responsibilities
l Follow current events and developments relative to an assigned issue, gather information from a wide array of sources either public or private.
l Evaluate and assess gathered information.
l Conduct independent and high-quality research to support mission requirements by utilizing multiple sources of information to analyze and evaluate facts, and suggest original ideas and specific arguments with the methodology of either qualitative or quantitative study.
l Present research results by writing clear and concise reports.
l Establish contacts and sources to use in future research.
Required Qualifications
l Minimum of two years of work experience as a Research Analyst on preferred field.
l Interest in and knowledge of national security, international studies, military affairs or similar studies of preferred countries or regions.
l Familiarity with conducting research on required fields by using multiple sources.
l Excellence in writing and communication skills.
l Proficiency in English.
l Ability to manipulate documents using Microsoft Office products.
l Creativity.
l Collaborative spirit.
l Efficiency in time management and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
l Experience collaborating with government, university, press, think tank, army or similar organizations in preferred countries.
l Portfolio of published articles or newscasts.
l Availability of information from multiple sources, especially from official organizations.
Bachelor’s degree on Political Science, International Relations, Foreign Area Studies, Security Studies, Military Science or other Social Science related discipline. An additional five year of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
