Job Description
Work Objective
Under general supervision of the Facilities Coordinator, performs a variety of duties during events and programs at City owned and operated rental and recreation facilities.
Essential Functions

- Responsible for opening and closing of facility during specified rental times.
- Perform light custodial duties; set up and break down of equipment, maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities. May be necessary to vacuum, mop, sweep, empty trash, re-stock restrooms, etc.
- During rental events, be available to answer questions and resolve problems while consistently monitoring all building operations.
- Assure that all policies and procedures are followed per the facility rental contract.
- Respond appropriately to all facility renter requests.
- Required to check the following prior to each facility rental: Room set-up, lights, and temperature.
- Monitor clean-up of the facility by the facility renter. Make certain the facility renter leaves the facility clean and in acceptable condition.
- Operate electronic equipment (projector, CD player, microphone, projection screen, etc.) as needed.
- Assure that all City-owned equipment (i.e. tables, chairs) are kept inside the Rental Facility.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by the Facilities Coordinator and Recreation Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred and at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to deal with the public in a professional manner and have prior customer service experience.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday work hours are required.
- Bilingual is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, SKILLS, and Abilities:
- Ability to effectively communicate, in writing and verbally, with staff and rental clients in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to interpret and enforce rules and regulations of the Parks and Recreation Department in a uniform, consistent and tactful manner.
- Ability to handle complaints, emergencies, stressful situations, and large groups of people.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability to utilize certain hand tools and light power tools.
- Ability to carry out written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to read diagrams and be attentive to details.
Physical and enviromental Requirements:
- Tasks involve the intermittent performance of physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds).
- Primarily involve work indoors. Some outside work involves monitoring grounds around facility, parking areas and patio when rented. Includes exposure to unsanitary conditions, odors, cleaning chemicals and moderate noise levels.
