Job description

This position is eligible for telework up to 3 days a week, in accordance with DGS's Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office a minimum of 2 days a week. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

This position is Limited Term (12 Months); it may become permanent, be extended, or be cancelled at any time.
Under the direction of the Deputy Director for the Office of Sustainability (OS), the Staff Services Manager II (Specialist) position will be responsible for accelerating the deployment of clean energy for DGS and State facilities and operations. This position independently performs varied and complex duties with a high degree of responsibility, handling multiple simultaneous and complex tasks and projects effectively and efficiently. This position has primary responsibility to lead state agencies' transition to 100 percent RENEWABLE ENERGY pursuant to SB 1020 through on-site generation and grid-based RENEWABLE ENERGY strategies, develops, reviews, interprets, and coordinates revisions to departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures utilizing general office equipment and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms, various research platforms, and project management tools.
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment.
