The Technical Editor will join KeyLogic's growing Strategic Analysis team supporting the Department of Energy (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). The Technical Editor will support administrators, project managers, specialists, and analysts by editing and formatting key deliverables, such as technical reports, proposals, and presentations. The Technical Editor will also assist with project-document tracking and review, data input and analysis, and report preparation. This position requires initiative and willingness to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment with the federal client and other members of our KeyLogic team.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or a similar field
- Master's degree is preferred
- U.S. Citizenship
- Experience in professional, technical, scientific, or business writing and technical editing
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with MS Excel
- Ability to read, evaluate, and edit the content, structure, and format of technical information in various genres
- Aptitude for fact-checking, revising, and editing deliverables with multiple authors
- Meticulous attention to detail with an eye for both grammar and visual design
- Strong organizational skills (tracking and prioritizing deliverables)
Position Responsibilities:
- Proofread, edit, and format technical content of various deliverables including, but not limited to, technical reports, white papers, memos, presentations, posters, newsletters, contract reporting documents, and meeting minutes
- Verify terms, sources, and URLs using standard reference resources
- Make any necessary corrections to technical documents and/or collaborate with researchers to make changes as needed
- Ensure that all deliverables meet company standards and adhere to the in-house style and quality standards
- Build and maintain MS Word templates
- Develop, communicate, and adhere to goals for content, workflow, and aim of writing
- Manage monthly contract reporting requirements (interface with contributors and administration to compile, edit, and format monthly reports in a quick-turnaround environment)
- Research and distill information from new articles for various newsletters
