A Day In The Life Of This Role: In this role, you will be an integral member of our Strategic Marketing & Communications team, and will work closely with our senior leadership team and Executive Director. You will develop and execute our fundraising strategy and work regularly with our partners to support NEEP's mission.
Fundraising Strategy You'll develop our annual fundraising plan with goals and strategies to identify, cultivate, and solicit funding opportunities. You'll work with the senior leadership and program team to develop and coordinate a pipeline of compelling cases for project-specific and organization-wide grant support.
Materials Development You'll be integral to the development of professional, persuasive project concepts and funding proposals. You'll ensure a smooth, effective, and impactful grant writing and reporting process responsive to funder needs. You'll lead and manage grant proposal development and track and assess federal, state and foundation grant funding announcements to identify opportunities for NEEP.
Relationship Building You'll work with the Executive Director to cultivate and maintain productive funder relationships, including researching, recommending and recruiting new funders to maintain and expand NEEP's broad and diverse funding base. You'll monitor all foundation and funder outreach activities and, in collaboration with appropriate staff, participate in relationship building, content development, follow-up and reporting.
Internal Collaboration You'll work with senior leadership and our program team to achieve NEEP's fundraisings goals and support internal collaboration and coordination of NEEP development activities and materials so that all work is effectively planned and implemented.
What We Need From You
At least 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, funder relationship management, grant writing, and/or a related field.
Advanced degree may be used in lieu some work experience.
Excellent communications skills, both written and oral, and demonstrated experience to work collaboratively across teams.
Energetic and self-directed, with effective time management and organizational skills including the ability to deal with several priorities at the same time
Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms to monitor stakeholder engagement, track funding opportunities and follow-up, and capture metrics to demonstrate value Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, web-based tools, and CRM software
Position is exempt and scheduled 40 hours per week although additional hours including evening and weekend may be required.
Must reside in one of NEEP's 13 states/jurisdiction in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region.
