Remote Medical Biller Follow Up Representative

TEKsystems is currently partnering with a 3rd party medical billing corporation, to support with hiring for an experience Follow Up Medical Billing Specialist. This position will require at least 3 years of denied claims Follow Up experience as training will be minimal for this remote position. Equiptment will be provided.

This is a fully remote medical billing opportunity paying $16 to $18/hr.

Position Overview:

As a Medical Billing Follow Up Representative, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate billing, reimbursement, and revenue cycle management. This position has become available due to recent internal promotions, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking career growth within the healthcare industry. To provide thorough follow-up and/or re-billing of unresolved hospital (UB04) and possibly physician (1500) insurance claims. The project has claims from a variety of payer types including Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Commercial insurance companies.

Responsibilities:

• Perform research, corrections, and updates within accounts receivable management systems to facilitate billing and receipt of compensation for services.
• Responsible for performing claim research and electronic claims follow-up work with multiple insurance companies either by electronic system or phone depending on insurer, to resolve accounts which have been billed but remain unresolved.
• Reviewing notes on client systems to see what work has already been performed.
• Determining next steps by either using electronic tools or calling the insurance company to determine claim status, depending on insurer.
• Responsible for claim denials and determining how to resolve the claim either by correction, re-billing, or if it was rejected authorization issues.
• Maintaining a productivity of 25 accounts/day with a 90% quality rating.
• If a claim is rejected, find out why and make a determination if it can be re-billed with proper information, if it should be patient responsibility, or if it is a timely filing issue.
• Execute account management functions including billing, collection, reimbursement calculations, cash posting, and reconciliation for assigned inventory
• Validate claims through Triple Check Claim Validation Billing for all business lines, Follow Up on 3rd Party and Private Pay accounts, and manage cash and denials posting along with credit balance and refund resolution.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a hospital, physician business office or with a 3rd party vendor performing billing and claim follow-up work
• Proficiency in utilizing Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable management systems and revenue cycle processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively.
• Strong communication skills to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Experience with at least one of these payer types is required, with multiple being preferred: Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, Blue Cross, or Commercials (Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana)
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Technical schooling in medical billing/coding and/or a college degree in a related field is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology (EOB's, DRG's HCPCS's, CPT & ICD codes, etc.).
