The Medical Biller/Coder is a remote position with requirements to be located within 2 hours drive from Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
As a Medical Biller/Coder, you will routinely review medical charts to code/bill according to the defined rules. You will work independently with resources available for assistance. Every day, you will be attentive to detailed information with various health insurance carriers.
To thrive in this role, you must rely on your knowledge of the rules of medical coding/billing and apply these rules in a consistent routine. Must be a Certified Medical Coder or have equivalent education or experience.
What You’ll Do Every Day
- Prepare medical claims through a routine structure applying your medical coding knowledge
- Verify health insurance by communicating with insurance carriers
- Assist patients with billing questions and take payments
- Assist coworkers with insurance and billing questions
- Communicate with providers and review details of the medical charts
- Assist with weekly billing routine as assigned in rotation
- Research and work through denied claims
