Remote Medical Biller

This position is for a Medical Biller with a very fast-paced Medical Billing Company. The position is remote. This position requires a strong work ethic and that the applicant be very familiar with working on desktop computers and programs such as Outlook and Microsoft Office 365. We are the actual billing department for physician practices all over the country who outsource their medical billing to us. This is a full time position. The applicant must be able to work during the specified hours of 7:30am PST to 4:30pm PST Monday through Thursday and 7:00am PST to 1:00pm PST on Fridays.

Work from Home Requirements:

* Dedicated and private work space free of distractions

* Comfortable and appropriate home office furniture: desk, chair

* Business class internet dedicated only to company equipment - reimbursed by company

* Ethernet cable connection from the modem/router to company provided computer

* Computer, monitors, keyboard, mouse, USB headset, webcam and power strip will all be provided by the company

Duties include but not limited to:

• Communicating with patient and third-party contacts (i.e. patients and insurance companies) to ensure timely and accurate processing of account transactions
• Provide excellent customer service. Demonstrate excellent telephone skills; maintain professionalism with all types of callers; ability to explain complex policies and insurance terminology to callers with various knowledge levels.
• Obtain patient payments over the phone.
• Process insurance claim denials.
• Prepare claims for submission.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A positive attitude; comfortable with change; Must be able to work with a diverse team.
• Accurate data entry skills and proficiency with standard office equipment and software such as Windows 10, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Proven experience meeting daily production standards.
• Problem solving and multi-tasking skills. Ability to work with deadlines while remaining calm, flexible and organized.
• Billing experience preferred, but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
