POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible to provide a safe and secure atmosphere for patients, staff, and visitors, as outlined in Maniilaq Association policies and in the Hospital Security policies and procedures manual. No weapons of any kind will be allowed. It is expected that the guard will not leave the hospital grounds at any time while on duty, except to patrol quarter’s areas and/or other Maniilaq Association properties or provide patients transportation as required by policies. Reports directly to the Lead Security Guard.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. Reading and writing skills appropriate for maintaining log of activities, writing reports and understanding policies and procedures. Must obtain Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, CPR, and First Aid certifications within 6 months of hire. International Association for Hospital Security and Safety certification within 1 year of hire. Ability to relate well to patients, visitors and staff, including managing aggressive patients/visitors, demonstrating sound judgement in risky situations and able to physically complete rounds as required. Must obtain an Alaska driver’s license within three (3) months of hire and have a good enough driving history to be insured to drive Maniilaq vehicles.
