Security Guard Lead

Summary or Purpose

Supervise the Security Guards, ensuring all shifts are covered. Guard business premises to protect company, personal property and personnel against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry and other hazards, and refers maintenance and emergency calls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise all Security Guards.
Perform inventory for new supplies and place where they need to go.
Assist staff with duties, as assigned.
Ensure all shifts are covered.
Assist with training new Security Guards for shift two and shift three.
Record and save pictures on an as needed basis.
Monitor cameras, and able to monitor specific dates.
Ensure all exits are clear of snow and debris.
Coordinate events on calendar and unlock doors for scheduled events.
Write up building problems and advise Facility Maintenance Staff on a daily basis via workorder.
Assist visitors with audio and/or visual equipment needs.
Perform janitorial and custodial duties as required.
Perform boiler readings, guage checks and general equipment maintenance.
Tour premises periodically, securing inside and outside areas, office and storage doors.
Ensure visitors sign in and out when visiting after hours.
Answer phone calls and forward messages to appropriate divisions.
Handle and record after- hour maintenance calls.
Respond immediately to alarms, signals or emergency situations.
Follow reporting procedures on emergency situations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of North Slope Borough organization, operations, policies and procedures.
Knowledge of audio and visual equipment.
Knowledge of security camera program.

Education, Experience, Certifications and Licenses Required

High school graduate or GED or, a combination of 12 years of education and related work experience.
Two years of work experience as a Security Guard.
One year of supervisory work experience.
