Job Purpose:
The Reliability Excellence Manager provides day-to-day leadership, supervision, and direction for the engineering and maintenance teams to ensure a safe, efficient, cost-effective operating facility. Provides technical support for continuing operations focusing on areas of production efficiencies, safe operations, and reliable manufacturing systems. The Reliability Excellence Manager will improve performance of productive equipment, preserve plant physical assets, and control maintenance labor and material costs to achieve plant performance goals. Manage and control plant capital projects on time and in budget to maximize investment value.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage/lead manufacturing engineering/maintenance-related projects from concept to completion; develop project specifications, quote(s) with external and internal suppliers/contractors, communicate project status/updates to upper management, manage/control project scope/budget/timeline, etc
- Responsible for leading the plant’s transformation strategies and projects with the General Manager, including but not limited to facilities improvements, equipment reliability, and capital improvement projects
- Assist and oversee maintenance of the plant equipment, facility, and other assets to protect these assets and reduce equipment related downtime
- Evaluate production and packaging needs for Capital Equipment
- Develops, modifies, and implements preventive maintenance programs, tactics, and resources as needed to achieve safety, reduce the risk of equipment failure, and increase efficiencies of systems to maximize productivity
- Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing capital projects for Production/Maintenance/Facility for capital improvement. Negotiations with contractors for all capital projects and makes recommendations to upper management
- Implement equipment asset plans using various reliability techniques such as Risk Based Inspections (RBI) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
- Establish departmental goals that maintain focus on improving line efficiencies and product quality
- Leads, and mentor’s maintenance and engineering employees regarding established standards for safety, quality of workmanship, and effectiveness of maintenance/repair of equipment
- Lead and influence engineers and mechanics with varied techniques. Provide frequent performance feedback and assist with career development plans for team members
- Assist the production departments as requested. Maintain equipment for operational efficiency, expedite equipment repairs, increase plant efficiency, and offer training to operational personnel as identified
- Provide technical resourcing and expertise to achieve optimum performance of production processes
- Work collaboratively with corporate Engineering, Maintenance, EHS and Quality functions
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Food Safety Program requirements in the facility through the completion of work by the maintenance department, contractor, capital, and expense projects and other improvements.
- Maintain a safe working environment. Understand, follow, and support Company policies, procedures, (i.e. lockout/tagout, hot work, confined space, etc.) in addition to corporate and local safety initiatives. Assume responsibility for risk assessment. Manage and encourage all employees and contractors to be proactive in the area of safety, including anticipating unsafe behaviors, conditions, and unusual circumstances

Skills and Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of increasing responsibility in plant engineering and project management in manufacturing
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with full cycle capital project management from appropriation preparation to field start up
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working with process and high speed/automation equipment
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices- OSHA safety regulations- EPA regulations
- Working knowledge of boiler and compressed air operations in order to evaluate operating efficiencies
- Must be familiar with maintenance management system operations
- Clear understanding of engineering economics and project justification
- Leadership skills gained through course work- seminars- and experience in supervisory positions in maintenance and/or supervising contractors on capital projects
- Proficient in current computer software – Microsoft Office, MS Project; AutoCAD preferred; CMMS
- Read and interpret engineering and architectural plans and schematics
Salary Range: $165,000-$180,000
