Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, design and installation of predictive maintenance programs and technology applications to identify dominant deterioration and failure modes, causes/effects of deterioration and corrective actions required to eliminate defects
- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends in equipment performance that adversely affect Safety, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, or costs to establish an "Equipment Top 10 List" that will become the primary focus of driving improved reliability. Develop and implement the improvement plans for these high-priority assets
- You will drive the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as Asset Utilization, MTBF, On-Stream Time (OST), and benchwork performance against best-in-class, track progress, and measure improvements
- Conduct analysis/investigations and provide leadership to others in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and Root Cause Analysis on equipment failures that significantly affect Safety, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), or costs. Ensure the results from this analysis become the basis for the applicable Equipment Maintenance Strategies.
- Manage the plant Mechanical Integrity (MI) Program and ensure that all required testing and new work follows state and federal code requirements, as well as expectations and Best Practices. This role must close gaps identified quickly to drive compliance and long-term value
- Ensure MI inspection data is set up accurately in the new GE-APM database, and ensure it is analyzed, documented, deficiencies are communicated effectively, and actions are identified.
- Perform PM Optimization reviews to ensure the Equipment Strategies will prevent premature failures of plant equipment
- Work with Subject Matter Experts on the development of Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) models
- Learn the technology and take ownership for maintaining these models to help with forecasting plant on-stream availability, or identifying where the greatest risk of failure exists based on historical plant failure data
- Develop strategies to reduce these risks that may involve adding redundancy, changing PM frequencies, increasing spare parts availability, etc.
- Develop a comprehensive Spare Parts Strategy
- Create accurate development of equipment Bill of Materials
- Verify existing inventory of spare parts and ensure these parts are accurately documented in SAP
- Utilize FMEA and RAM Modeling to help make data-based decisions on greatest risks vs. existing spare part inventory
- Work with Purchasing on spare parts stocking levels and preventative maintenance for spare parts.
- Review and provide technical input into capital projects, including the management of the maintenance portion of the Early Equipment Care program (which needs to be revitalized/reimplemented)
- Support plants in the field implementation of all the above strategies, and when requested during times of major unplanned equipment failures
- Oversees and performs Quality Assurance on OEM or outside shop repairs as needed together with the Maintenance Engineer based on the Plant and Reliability Leadership agreement
- Visible field presence during planned TA to work with Maintenance Engineers to perform field inspections of major equipment, and to collect data to verify adequacy of FMEAs, Equipment Strategies, and PM frequencies, and make adjustments/updates where necessary
- Represent their plant and actively participate in the Reliability Network meetings sharing any strategies and leveraging in any actions from others' learning events
- Be a custodian of the plant's HSE policies and procedures, particularly as it relates to the design, planning, and field execution of work
- Actively participate in the plant's HSE activities and training
- This role will be expected to support the Maintenance Engineers with the implementation of any/all activities in this list in support of the plant's needs
