This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workday. The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services trusts our employees to be self-motivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management. This Rehabilitation Counselor position is located in the Rockingham County area and will be housed in the Wentworth satellite office which is part of the Burlington Unit Office. This is a third party funded position which serves 4 schools within the Rockingham County School system. This position provides counseling services to youth and adults with intellectual and learning, substance abuse, mental health disabilities, as well as physical disabilities. The selected applicant is accountable for the design and implementation of a comprehensive plan of vocational rehabilitation. Services will be provided to consumers both in person and remotely.Job responsibilities include the following: Evaluating professional diagnostic data to determine eligibility and required rehabilitation servicesDevelop a written plan of services in conjunction with the consumer, parent and/or guardianProvide rehabilitation services within the context of a guidance and counseling relationship and provide supportive counselingMonitor the consumer's progress throughout the service delivery processWork directly with community partners in order to assist individuals with disabilities in becoming suitably employedDocument service delivery and case progress in the case management system as required by agency policy If there are no qualified candidates remaining in the applicant pool who meet the minimum Education and Experience or Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for the position, the agency may consider for this position, a trainee who does not meet the minimum requirements. Salary for a trainee may be set at a lower level than the classification salary range and recruitment range that is listed in the posting with the salary being adjusted up accordingly when the trainee has obtained the necessary additional education and experience to fully meet the minimum qualifications as outlined in the classification specification.
