Job Title: Regulatory Compliance Director - Import Program
Work Location: Anaheim, CA (Onsite)
Overtime Status: Exempt
OVERVIEW:
A global retail operation company is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Compliance Director to lead their organization's efforts in ensuring the import and export of products are in strict accordance with all relevant government regulations and guidelines. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive compliance strategies to guarantee that our company adheres to all applicable FDA and other regulations, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality with food and other products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and international regulations such as FDA, EPA, and others.
• Oversee the development and execution of effective import and export processes.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure all documentation, labeling, and packaging meet regulatory requirements.
• Lead and coordinate audits and inspections related to food compliance, both internal and external.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address and rectify any identified non-compliance issues promptly.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks in the import and export processes.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure continuous compliance and reduce the likelihood of regulatory issues.
• Provide training to employees on FDA and other regulations as well as company compliance policies.
• Stay informed about industry best practices and disseminate relevant information to the team.
• Work closely with other departments such as Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Regulatory Affairs to integrate compliance measures into business processes seamlessly.
• Establish and maintain a robust documentation system to track and archive all relevant compliance records.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of required reports to regulatory agencies.
• Stay abreast of all FDA and other regulations and guidelines related to import and export.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, or a related discipline).
• Proven experience (at least 8-10 years) in a Regulatory Compliance role within the consumer goods industry, with a focus on import and export.
• Comprehensive knowledge of FDA and other regulations and international safety standards.
• Strong understanding of food labeling requirements, documentation, and quality control processes.
• Experience managing audits and inspections from regulatory bodies.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
