Registrar- Part Time-Day

Part Time, Monday to Friday, 6am - 10am

Summary:

A hospital patient registrar collects patient information and performs several functions, from verifying insurance to executing admissions, transfer, and discharge procedures,

This professional must remain calm and efficient since work is often performed in a fast-paced environment where time is of the essence,

Work Experience

Previous experience in a hospital patient registration setting, doctors office, handling patients scheduling, obtaining pre-certifications, authorizations and referrals or patient services environment strongly preferred; and/or Previous experience in a census management, assigning beds, position preferred; and/or Previous experience in a patient services environment , billing/collections-must have a working knowledge of more than one provider such as Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs and others,

Experience in completing medical assistance application , family care, PEs, PAICs or charity care, helpful,

Experience in a customer service related environment preferred, Well developed interpersonal skills with the ability to understand and communicate with persons of varying acuities, Must be able to work with the public and maintain poise under difficult situations at all times, Knowledge of medical technology helpful, Good typing and computer skills a must,

Fluent in Spanish strongly preferred,

High School Diploma preferred

At least 1 year experience preferred
