We are looking for a new Registered Veterinary technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant to support our Critical Care team at our gorgeous Redwood City Hospital!
The Critical Care teamprovides round the clock care and treatments to our patients who require hospitalization and careful observation. CCU treats cases including but not limited to GI, metabolic & respiratory emergencies, immune mediated diseases, and heart failure. Critical care nurses administer everything from basic patient care & TLC to oxygen therapy, total parenteral nutrition, & blood transfusions.

Some of the duties you will be responsible for:
- Providing high quality nursing care
- Triaging
- Reporting during rounds
- Math calculations
- Administering medications via appropriate routes and duration
- Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Radiographs, CPR, TPR, working knowledge of anesthesia and monitoring equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- 1+ yearsof clinical experience in the veterinary industry as an RVT or3 consecutive years of Veterinary Assistant experience
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriate
- Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations
- Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)

- 4/10 Schedule
- Some weekend and holiday availability needed

Pay range $22.00 - $40.00 hourly
