Job Overview:
As a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the sleep center setting, you will have the responsibility of performing sleep testing procedures, clinic duties, phone therapist, and patient education. You can expect to work with patients ranging from age 3 to geriatrics. Other job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Patient assessment, pulse oximetry, EEG hook-up and monitoring, pulse oximetry and capnography. These tasks involve the use of equipment to measure, monitor and help diagnose sleep disorders.
- Monitor patient during testing to ensure safety and comfort.
- Maintain and document calibration of all equipment in accordance with departmental policy and manufacturer guidelines/recommendations.
- This position also covers Sleep Center Phone Therapist and Clinic Therapist positions.
Required Certifications/Licenses:
- Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials through the NBRC
- Current State credentials for the state you will be practicing in
- BLS (basic life support) and ACLS certifications
- Any therapist assigned to the PICU must obtain PALS
- New respiratory grads are welcome to apply
