Job Summary and QualificationsStroke Coordinator (Registered Nurse)
Utilizes a variety of clinical and leadership skills to educate, consult, and facilitate the service-line team in achieving the highest quality of service and satisfaction for the patients. Ensures effective physician communication and coordination of resources, standards of care, and operating procedures. Develops and fosters close relationships with EMS services, acting as a liaison to improve pre-hospital stroke care and increase community awareness of Comprehensive Stroke program and services. Coordinates service line work flow to maximize operational efficiency, improve productivity, and reduce costs. Identifies training opportunities and coordinates the development and implementation of educational programs as defined by Comprehensive Stroke Center requirements. Ensures development and implementation of effective, ongoing clinical programs to measure, monitor, assess and improve services. Ensures program integrity through regularly scheduled quality assurance audits. Facilitates the development, implementation and ongoing adherence of stroke program protocols and therapies. Ensures the protocols and therapies become the standard of care followed within the facility. Collaborates with medical and hospital staff to provide multidisciplinary care to stroke patients. Provides education and clinical expertise to care team, patients, and families. Collects and analyzes stroke program patient data to assist with documentation, coding, clinical care and improved outcomes. Participates in rounding and proactively responds to patient needs to improve patient outcomes and positively impact overall patient experience.
- Associate Degree or diploma in Nursing required
- Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or APRN license required; or appropriate multi-state licensure
- Basic Cardiac Life Support or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Minimum of three (3) years of Acute Care, Critical Care, and/or ED experience with a solid grasp of hemodynamics and neurological disorders
