Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and assistance to individuals in need, including those with autism, dementia, or other special needs.
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and individual preferences.
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and document changes in clients' health status and report any concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients.
- Implement behavior management strategies as directed by supervisors or healthcare professionals.
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a caregiving role is preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining client confidentiality.
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques and strategies.
- Experience working in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or similar environments is a plus.
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors and use appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
