Registered Nurse Pre/Post Op

Arlington Heights Surgery Center is building a team for our new eye center specializing in cataract, retinal and oculoplastic cases.

Our surgery center is Monday – Friday with no call and no weekends! If you are an RN seeking to improve your work/life balance, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Regularly you will . . .

• Provide comfort and reassurance to the patient and support the patient’s right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality
• Confirm that proper techniques and procedures are used according to accepted standards of practice
• Assist in inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels
• Perform thorough pre‐operative patient assessment required in the outpatient setting
• Perform safe and individualized nursing care for the patient in the immediate post‐operative/post‐anesthesia period
• Perform thorough post‐operative patient assessment prior to discharge of the patient
• Perform discharge education to patient and care giver
• Provide nursing care to meet patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered

The right candidate for this position will have:

• Current Illinois Nursing License
• Minimum 2 years’ pre- and post-operative experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS certification within 30 days of hire
• Commitment to patient care
• Excellent skills and clinical ability
• Ambulatory care experience, preferred
