As a Home HealthRegistered Nurse, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:
- The RN is accountable for making decisions based on his/her educational preparation and experience in nursing
- Provide in house care to patients with illnesses, injuries and chronic diseases—often after discharge from a hospital, rehab or nursing facility
- Work with a team of physicians and oversee LPNs, CNAs and aides providing patient care
- Examine patients, complete assessments, document progress and report changes to their physician
- Educate patients on their plan of care, prescribed medication, therapy, diet and exercise
- Coach family members on the patient’s plan of care, medication and home safety
- Ensure goals are met and coordinate discharge from services
A few must-haves for Home HealthRegistered Nurses:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN license in GA
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Home Healthcare
- HCHB charting experience
- OAISIS charting
- CPR certification, negative ppd screening or chest x-ray
- Drivers license, reliable transportation and auto insurance
- Knowledge of state and federal Home Health regulations
- Clinical proficiency in nursing specialty, strong communication skills and compassion
- Able to pass federal and state required criminal / abuse background checks and drug screen.
