Registered Nurse - Geriatric Psychiatry

McLaren Macomb is currently seeking qualified team members to join our Senior Behavioral Health Center in Shelby Township, Michigan.

Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation.

We are looking to build this team with skilled, engaged, patient and team focused nurses (RNs). This opportunity will give you the chance to work side by side with a dedicated physicians and multidisciplinary teams.

Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers quality nursing care through the utilization of the nursing process. Works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. Carries out functions according to hospital policy, the hospital mission, and standards of practice defined by professional and regulatory guidelines. Directs, coordinates and delegates activities in order to foster patient / family centered care.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assesses the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of the patient
• Plans and implements nursing care according to patient and family needs.
• Makes appropriate interventions based upon individual patient needs.
• Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions.
• Assumes personal responsibility for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, environment and professional development.

Requirements:

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree. Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license
• BLS card from AHA required before start date (valid at least 60 days beyond start date)
• Experience working in Long Term Care, Memory or Alzheimers Care, or Geriatric Psych unit.
