Job Title: Registered Nurse - Cardiac RN Cath Lab Nurse
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with expertise in cardiac care to join our dynamic team as a Cardiac RN Cath Lab Nurse. In this role, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care in the cardiac catheterization lab (Cath Lab). You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assist in cardiac procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, and diagnostic catheterization. Your attention to detail, critical thinking ability, and strong communication skills will contribute to successful patient outcomes and the overall success of our facility.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in preparing patients for cardiac procedures, ensuring they receive necessary medications, and explaining the process to alleviate anxiety.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythm during procedures to identify any changes or complications.
- Assist cardiologists with various procedures, including angioplasty, stenting, and diagnostic catheterization.
- Administer medications, sedation, and anesthesia as prescribed or necessary.
- Monitor patients post-procedure, ensuring their stability, comfort, and recovery.
- Assess patients' conditions, identifying issues, and reporting them to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on post-procedure care, potential complications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Update and maintain accurate medical records and patient information.
- Comply with all hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiac care.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Registered Nurse license issued by the State Board of Nursing.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Proven experience in cardiac care, ideally within a Cath Lab setting.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Excellent knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and procedures.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in using electronic medical record systems.
- Willingness to assume responsibility and work as a team player.
