Community Living Alliance (CLA) is currently seeking individuals who have a passion for helping others to provide personal cares, meal preparation and light housekeeping to clients in their homes throughout Dane County.
Community Living Alliance (CLA) is a community-based, non-profit organization providing services and community resources for all people with disabilities and chronic illnesses and for older adults. CLA was founded by people with disabilities, health care professionals and concerned citizens. CLA's history spans over two decades and is firmly rooted in supporting the values of the independent living philosophy.
Responsible for coordinating and managing the personal care needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and/or the elderly. Principle duties of this position include:
- In accordance with policies, program, contract and government regulations and rules, coordinates and manages the personal care needs of consumers/clients.
- Conducts training and supervisory visits with Personal Care Workers.
- Communicates with key customers and maintains a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Ensures compliance with agency policies and procedures and various program and government regulations and rules.
- Registered Nurse, registration current in the State of Wisconsin required.
- Associate's degree in nursing required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Three years nursing and supervisory experience preferred.
- One year experience in community-based services required.
- Knowledge of and experience working with various consumer populations including individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and/or the elderly.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues related to safety concerns, OSHA standard precautions, competency assessment and adult learning styles.
- Knowledge of nursing assessment and writing care plans.
- Knowledge of supervision strategies for successful employee development.
- Knowledge of home and community-based supportive home care and personal care services.
The office hours of this position are Monday - Friday 8:30 am-4:30 pm; however, this position requires availability to work early morning before office hours, evenings after office hours, and weekends based on client needs.
