General Responsibilities
Under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the Registered Behavior Technician is responsible for the implementation of behavior intervention plans developed by the IEP team, collecting data and conducting assessments.
Salary:
The full hourly range for this position is $26.28 - $31.98. Offers are made at the entry level of the range.
Assignment:
This position will be 35 hrs/wk (M-F 8:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.), school year schedule and will be located at Stevenson High School in the Stevenson-Carson School District.
Essential Functions/Other Functions
Essential Functions:
  1. Perform tasks assigned by the BCBA/BCaBA
  2. Assist the Special Education Teacher, consistent with IEP or IFSP goals, in lesson plan implementation; one-on-one & small group instruction; classroom management; student observation & assessment; and communication with parents and staff.
  3. Collect data and report student progress.
  4. Maintain accurate data collection records.
  5. Communicate with staff and parents as instructed by the Special Education Teacher.
  6. Implement, assess, and evaluate implementation of student intervention plans and programs; provide input and feedback to teachers, parents, other appropriate team members and the Assistant Director.
  7. Implement positive behavior intervention systems.
  8. Manage crisis intervention by maintaining a safe, classroom environment for the students.
  9. Participate as a member of the education team. May attend parent conferences.
Other Functions:
  1. Other duties as assigned.
  2. Attend various training sessions needed in order to maintain an up-to-date understanding of behavioral intervention and other related meetings.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Hold or obtain a valid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential within 90 days of employment.
  3. Two years of experience working with students with behavior or mental health issues.
  4. Working knowledge of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) regulations and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Training and/or experience in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention techniques.
  2. Training and/or experience in implementation of positive behavior supports.
  3. Training and/or experience in Collaborative Problem Solving.
  4. Training in functional behavior analysis.
  5. Two years of experience as a Registered Behavior Technician.

Working Conditions/Employment Requirements
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  1. Classroom setting, may move from classroom to classroom to provide services.
  2. Provide assistance and attend to the physical needs of students including moving and positioning students and assisting with personal hygiene needs, including but not limited to: tube feeding, catheterization, changing diapers, toileting.
  3. Sit, stand, stoop to attend to student's needs and to provide instruction.
  4. Regular attendance during assigned work schedule.
  5. Students may use challenging or offensive verbalizations toward staff and other students with potential to escalation to physical aggression.
Employment Requirements:
  1. Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
