Job Description
The Vice President, Human Resources for the Southern region leads HR service delivery for a robust, 1000+ employee organization with offices in Dallas, Houston and Atlanta. Reporting to the Regional President and working out of our Dallas office, the role will serve as a key member of the regional leadership team and operate as a strategic business partner. In leading the regional HR department, the VPHR is responsible for the management and oversight of all HR functions including talent management and succession planning, HR operations and employment engagement. The role currently includes a local team of 6 HR professionals. This individual will also be a member of the national HR leadership team for McCarthy led by the EVP of HR, and partner with our national HR teams with expertise in talent management, organizational development, compensation and benefits, and data and analytics to optimize results for the company and region.
Key Responsibilities
- Operates as a critical & embedded business partner to the Southern leadership team.
- Provides senior level HR generalist support for the following core processes and programs within Human Resources for his/her region:
- Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
- Total Compensation
- Benefits Enrollment
- Performance Management
- Training and Development
- Succession Planning
- Compliance
- Builds and develops a reputation as a trusted leader, business partner and service-oriented HR professional at all levels of the organization.
- Leverages relationships with regional peers and national HR team to leverage best practices and ensure Southern is evolving and supporting company-wide initiatives and change.
- Analyzes organizational trends and data and provides insight that leads to improvement and change.
- Manages and provides guidance to region HR team including HR Manager, Learning and Development Manager, HR Specialist and HR Coordinator.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years in progressive HR leadership roles, preferably with experiences in technical/engineering/operations-based organizations.
- Regional and/or multi-site senior HR Generalist experience supporting 500+ person organization.
- Solid depth in core areas of organizational impact (e.g., compensation/benefits, employee relations, talent development, organizational development, change management, culture, and DE&I).
- Strong track record driving initiatives and change with buy-in and support.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships with employees and managers at all levels including executives.
- Ability to work in Dallas, Tx in an office based role 4 days per week.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Solid platform skills.
