LOCATION: Mid-Atlantic region (VA, NJ, DC, NY, DE, New England)
SALARY: $70,000 - $80,000 (doe), plus generous EOY bonus. Includes monthly car allowance and paid expenses
Position Overview: Schaefer Plastics is one of the most respected and innovative industry-leading global manufacturers and distributors of waste technology products serving municipalities, government agencies, and private haulers. We are currently searching for an ambitious and decisive Regional Sales Representative for our Mid-Atlantic region (VA, NJ, DC, NY, DE) to come join Schaefer Plastics dynamic team.
As a Regional Sales Manager, working with Municipalities and Private Solid Waste Hauling organizations, you will be a part of a top-performing sales team that practices consultative selling to ensure the successful implementation of products, services, and solutions while achieving sales goals and maintaining excellent client relations. Interaction with clients will be in-person as well as via email and phone.
***This position is field-based and requires frequent overnight travel to client locations, area trade shows, industry conferences, and training sessions.
Essential Functions:
• Maintain and develop productive relationships with existing clients and prospects
• Prospect new business via Face-to-face cold call visits and phone calls.
• Communicate effectively with clients to set proper expectations as they relate to solutions proposed
• Communicate and report regularly to the Director of Sales to provide the status of leads, sales plan progress, and competitive activity, including accurate and timely forecasting
• Utilize a CRM tool (Salesforce.com) to plan, and document opportunities and sales activities.
• Work with back-end sales support to prepare quotations
• Ability to travel by car and/or air as required.
• Create, maintain, revise, and communicate annual personal and territory sales plans to meet company goals and objectives
• Drive sales through an understanding of the client's business practices and provide the best solutions to meet those needs
• Coordinate, prepare, and conduct product and solution demonstrations
• Prepare sales proposals and related sales documentation
• Prepare and deliver presentations to clients
• Source and assist in the preparation of bid responses with other team members
• Be familiar with key competitor activities, products, and services as they compare to Schaefer solutions and services
• Attend trade shows, events, and conferences
• Active participation in trade industry associations.
• Attend training and sales skills develop programs as required
Required Qualifications:
• A minimum of two (2) years of successful experience as part of a professional structured sales team, while achieving independent goals through self-management of daily responsibilities and activities with a focus on team and company goals
• Must be currently located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the US, 1-2 hours from the nearest airport
• This role requires 70% travel (2-3 nights per week)
