RES is accepting applications for a Southeast Regional Land Manager based out of our Raleigh, NC, Charlotte, SC, Athens, GA or Nashville, TN office.
The mission: This is a critical role in our project development team. All our nature-based restoration projects start with land. No land, no project. The Regional Land Manager will manage a team of Land Representatives identifying parcels based on defined criteria, developing relationships with prospective landowners and community business leaders, securing property rights, and enabling project development and delivery. This role interacts with all RES functions, including sales, ecology, regulatory, operations, analysts, finance, and legal. You will also talk to outside counsel, real estate brokers, and conservation agents. You will work in a collaborative team that solves problems and supports your needs.
What your day-to-day might look like?You will spend 50% of your time problem-solving with your team. Work directly with the land Representatives to solve problems and structure deals. This includes reviewing purchase agreements, ordering surveys and titles, and preparing and organizing closing documents to support your team.
You will spend 25% of your time negotiating with the landowners. You will own land acquisition for select high-value and complex deals. Initial prospecting and outreach can be done from an office setting, and around half of this time will be spent visiting the landowners onsite.
You will spend 25% of your time on analytical work. This includes analyzing property data and land records, researching landowners, assessing competing state and federal programs, working with the project team to set land strategy and priorities, and creating preliminary and final project budgets.
QualificationsWe would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:
- BA/BS in Real Estate, Land Management, Agriculture, Environmental Studies or Ecology
- Five or more years of experience in land acquisition, real estate brokerage and/or law, land management, or sales
- A history of achieving a sales quota or target
- Acceptable driving record
- ArcGIS experience
- Passion for environmental stewardship and conservation
