Baptist Health is looking for a Regional Director of Patient Safetyand Risk Management to join our Medical Group team in Lexington and Richmond
The Regional Director of Patient Safetyand Risk Management for BHMG will establish and maintain effective organization in all aspects of the Patient Safety and Risk Management Program for the Baptist Health Medical Group. Specific activities include managing the Patient Safety Evaluation System for the medical group, staff education, management of small claims, and the investigation of safety events as defined in BHS Legal/Risk Management policies, maintaining appropriate records as needed to document investigation and claims and the ongoing Risk Management files. The Regional Director of Patient Safetyand Risk Management for BHMG will work with Clinical Providers and Leadership to improve processes and reduce frequency and severity of undesirable events or trends. Provides support to employees as needed during depositions and interviews with outside counsel. The Regional Directorfor BHMG will maintain oversight of the safety event-reporting program. The Regional Directorfor BHMG will notify the System Assistant Vice President of Risk Management Services for BHMG, the Vice President for Risk Management and Insurance Services and senior management as quickly as possible of serious incidents as they occur. The Regional Directorfor BHMG will work with Defense Counsel and BHS litigation counsel as directed and as requested to obtain additional information, provide records, set up appointments, etc. The Regional Directorfor BHMG attends and provides input during the BHS malpractice reviews for BHMG.
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required
- Education: 5 years of experience in healthcare Risk Management required; bachelor's degree relevant to the scope of the role required. Excellent oral/written communication skills are essential.
- Certification as a Professional in Healthcare Risk Management preferred.
