Reporting into the Senior Director, Market Access, Policy, and Advocacy, the Regional Account Manager (RAM) will help the company meet key business and access objectives aligned within their area footprint. The ideal candidate will further customer (internal and external) engagement by providing insight and expertise in relevant therapeutic areas while assessing trends, market conditions, and policies.  The key external customers include Regional Accounts, federal (VA’s) accounts, teaching institutions, and chain pharmacies.  The Regional Account Manager will have direct accountability for driving access and pull through support in identified regional Medicaid as well as commercial and Medicare accounts while assessing future opportunities of engagement.  Communicating cross-functionally, demonstrating financial responsibility, and utilizing all core market access resources/planning tools is necessary  to maintain profitable access for our brand. 

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Manage ITCI’s business to business relationships with targets accounts, including the VA’s, state Medicaid, and regional payers.
  • Prioritize identified accounts and targets in effort to achieve corporate goals. 
  • Work in collaboration with sales leaders to assess market needs/trends and create action plans to help achieve corporate goals. 
  • Communicate clearly with all internal stakeholders to clarify account objectives and ensure accountability for executing the account plan, deploying tactics, tracking process, overcoming obstacles, and recognizing success. 
  • Identify trends within Regional Accounts and build strong relationships with those involved in the decision-making process.  
  • Understand the contractual agreements with customers in collaboration with the cross-functional team: 
  • Effectively utilize and champion core market access resources and planning tools.
  • Understand internal processes and procedures on each key priority accounts to leverage relevant resources for the successful delivery of customer-based objectives. 
  • Ensure legal & regulatory compliance in support of RAM engagement with payer customers, advocacy, and coalition partners.
  • Support the National account team to ensure PBM pull-through with specified Regional Accounts
  • Complete all company-based and job-related training as assigned by ITCI within the required timelines

Job Requirements 

  • Must live in TX
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Must have a combination of 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales and 1 + years of account management, marketing or first line leadership experience. 
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% or as required by the company. 
  • Must have superior business and payer acumen with excellent ability to identify and develop relationships with customer stakeholders. 
  • Experience and knowledge in the psychiatry therapeutic and/or VA’s are preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability of discipline and prioritization as it relates to strategy execution. 
  • Regional account and contract negotiation experience preferred. 
  • Leadership and people management of 3 + years of experience preferred. 
  • Must have ability to work effectively within cross functional teams and in an environment that is rapidly changing.  
  • Demonstrated success in strategic thinking and problem solving.
  • Highly proficient communication skills both written and oral. 
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
