Job Title: Referral Clerk

Department: Internal Medicine

Reports to: Office Supervisor

Looking for quick learner, detail oriented, multi-tasking, people loving person to manage insurance referrals, and assist with all front office work flow, in a busy Internal Medicine office.

• Prepare chart prior to visit
• Prepare referrals and obtain authorizations.
• Schedule patient appointments
• Answer phones and assist callers
• Maintain updated network information
• Perform incidental duties as needed
• Clear speaking voice

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Strong customer service orientation
• Clear diction, attention to detail
• Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Basic computer proficiency
• Knowledge of insurance referral and authorization process
• Strong team player
• Experience with medical referrals and front office duties helpful

Physical and Mental Demands:

• Normal physical ability; able to sit for long periods
• Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
• High level verbal and written communication skills
• Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
