The Department of Defense Military Treatment Facilities (MTF) at the Florida Panhandle, Florida, has a requirement for non-personal services; Integrated Referral Management and Appointing Centers (IRMAC) Services to include, but not limited to Referral Management Clerks. The employee shall assist eligible medical beneficiaries with appointments, referrals, and registration. organizational tasks in support of the medical facility. This is a recurring requirement for services currently being performed at the Florida Panhandle at Eglin AFB, Tyndall AFB, Hurlburt Field, and Navey Air Station (NAS) Pensacola.
Duties and responsibilities
- Book appointments for all TRICARE Prime beneficiaries within TRICARE Access To Care (ATC) standards and in accordance with the RMC Guidelines.
- Book all non-TRICARE Prime patients according to the guidance given by the specific clinics.
- Use the appropriate information system that links the referral to the appointment, to the TRICARE ATC category and standard.
- Chronologically track all referral requests/results going into/out of the MTF according to AF Referral Management Guide.
- Scan all referral-generated documents received into current electronic health record system within 3 business days of receipt. Documents will include but are not limited to; referral reports, follow up reports, labs, radiology tests, discharge summaries, and ER reports
- Review referrals for medical and administrative appropriateness administrative and clinical completeness, covered benefit for the specific patient, and required tests and pre-work.
- Ensure patient is notified about all necessary documentation required and appropriate for the referred episode of care.
- Notify patients via phone to remind patients of upcoming appointments through the automated system
Qualifications
- Reads, understands, speaks, and write English fluently.
- Possess High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
- General office administrative and clerical skills to perform receptionist duties and answer telephones.
- Preferred six (6) months to one year of healthcare administrative experience in either an inpatient or outpatient care setting within the last five (5) years.
- General medical ethics, telephone etiquette, written/verbal/electronic communication, and customer service skills.
- Must be able to pass background check
