In this role, you will work as an integral part of a team to process and ship factory scrap, hazardous waste, and returned batteries and assist with pertinent paperwork and recordkeeping. Your attention to detail and ability to follow procedures will be essential. This is a physically demanding position that requires standing for long periods, and lifting heavy objects.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Forklift experience.
- Minimum of 6 months of increasing experience in manufacturing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy objects on a regular basis.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and follow instructions, company rules, and procedures.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Must be able to operator a forklift and maintain a license.
- Ability to read, understand, interpret, and follow technical drawings, work instructions, assembly procedures, test procedures, MFGs, SOEs, OMS, E-&Q- documents, etc.Ability to use precision measuring tools/equipment.
- Must be able to be at work on-time and follow directions from supervision/management.
- Certified Manufacturing Specialist certification through an accredited technical college (or the equivalent) preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Repetitive pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, grasping, standing, walking, and prolonged sitting required.
- Standing and walking could be up to 8 hours per day plus OT according to CBA.
- Receive/Control materials, performance required tests, claim product, inspect product, and complete documentation while participating as part of an efficient quality-oriented work team.
- Identify and segregate non-confirming product.
- Identify plan, process or product safety/environmental problems and report them to management.
- Provide input to improve processes and products in accordance with 5S and TPM standards.
- Clean, upkeep basic equipment, and perform quality checks at each station.
- Load/Unload trucks, unpacking and sorting batteries by chemistry, and packing batteries for shipment.
- Perform battery testing and performance evaluations for batteries that are returned under warranty claims.
- Assist in the management of hazardous waste and non-hazardous factory waste shipped offsite for disposal.
