Under the supervision of the Director of Recruiting and Talent Management, serves as the agency's statewide Recruiting Manager and Social Media Manager in the Central Office of Human Resources.
DHEC is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and tech savvy individual to join our team as a Recruiting and Social Media Manager. This role involves developing innovative recruiting strategies and attracting diverse talent via the agencies LinkedIn recruiting package. The ideal candidate will have a passion for innovation and strategic thinking, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a strong understanding of Social Media platforms.
Job Functions:- Teams with hiring managers and internal stakeholders to understanding recruiting needs and develop recruiting strategies for hard to fill and critical roles including registered nurses, social workers, nurse practitioners, epidemiologists, physicians, lab scientists, nutritionists, and executive level positions.
- Utilizes a variety of results-based avenues to source talent, including Social Media platforms, external job boards, job fairs, and recruiting engagement events.
- Serves as the agency's Applicant Tracking System Coordinator. Provides ongoing training and assistance on how to create attractive job postings. Runs reports tracking Recruiting and internship data and monitors job postings for compliance on a consistent basis.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with schools, colleges, universities, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), the military, and other entities with the intent of encouraging skilled and diverse candidates to seek careers and internships at DHEC.
- Partners with the agency's communication department to ensure ongoing outreach regarding DHEC careers and internships via the agencies Social Media page, internal site, recruiting fliers, and website on an ongoing basis.
This is a temporary grant position with an end date of November 2027.
Relevant recruiting, communication, or marketing experience will be considered in lieu of the above educational requirements.
- Ability to secure and maintain an ongoing talent pipeline of passive and active candidates.
- Results driven and detail oriented.
- Ability to think outside of the box and create innovative recruiting strategies that increase diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to lead presentations and conduct trainings for diverse populations with various skill levels.
- Tech savvy with Social Media knowledge.
- Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to generate reports, excel spreadsheets, surveys, and track recruiting metrics and data.
- Must be available for occasional statewide travel

DRIVING RECORD: This position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver’s license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record. Occasional travel across the state to job fairs and recruiting events is required. Over-night travel is not required.

This position is part of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control’s Central Office of Human Resources. The work performed supports DHEC’s mission to improve the quality of life for all South Carolinians by protecting and promoting the health of the public and the environment. Effective July 1, 2024, this position will transfer to the South Carolina Department of Public Health created by Senate Bill 399 which provides for the creation of the Department of Public Health to assume the public health-related functions of DHEC.
