Job Title: Recreation Leader
Supervisor: Marketing and Events Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Recreation Leader will host Kids Activities at the Playground to entertain Guests’ kids while at our Resort. To note - this is not community rec and is only for Swan Bay Resort guests. Activities with the kids may include: painting, bracelet making, badminton, kan jam, volleyball and so much more! The kids are required to sign in & out with their names and site numbers for safety. Average Attendance of kids is about 5-10 an hour. Additionally, we host Adult-Focused events in the evening hours that are run by the Marketing Department. This position is Seasonal (Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend) and Part-Time up to 20-22hrs/week. Pay is based upon experience starting at $15 an hour. Rec Leader hours are fixed at 8am-12pm, Wednesday through Sunday, though not every day is required, schedule to be discussed with management.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Daily management of Kids Activities at our outdoor & shaded Playground - painting, bracelet making, cornhole, kan jam, theme weeks, etc.
- Keeping a log of kids in attendance - time in/out, how many in the group, site number or parents cell, etc.
- Recording of any injuries as necessary and reporting them immediately to management
- Holding the responsibility of unlocking and locking the Playground Shed and making sure that all equipment is put away at the end of the day in an organized manner
- Continuously communicating with the Marketing Director when the Playground is running out of certain supplies
- Cleaning and disinfecting any necessary supplies
- Understanding that Kids Rec will be held rain or shine, as it is a covered space. Storms will lead to cancellations
- Being able to effectively communicate with Adults, Kids & Families in a respectful manner to facilitate a positive environment for all
- Reporting any maintenance related issues to management (ex: bee hives forming)
- Completing any additional tasks asked for by management
Essential Qualifications:

- Excellent communication skills
- A desire to work in/or already work in the fields of: Sports Management, Physical Education, Health, Teacher, Daycare, etc.
- CPR & First-Aid Certification is preferred.
- The ability to work outside during the Summer months for an extended period of time, with shade provided, is required.
- The ability to uphold physical stamina and dexterity; ability to lift at least 25lbs is required.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed (ex: 4th of July)

Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred.
