Activities - Life Enrichment Leader
Come join us at Ozanam Hall Nursing Home of Queens! A Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, we've served the community since 1971. We are a place of life, a place of caring, and more importantly, a true home for our residents.
We are seeking to fill the position of Activities - Life Enrichment - Recreation Leader.
** Part-Time Shifts Available: Mon - Fri - 6:30a to 8:30a; 10a to 11:30a and 2p to 4:30p **
** Hourly Pay rate range = $16.27 to $17.88 **
** Recreational and OT students are encouraged to apply. **
Activities - Life Enrichment - Recreation Leader Qualifications:
- Previous recreation / activities experience with a geriatric population preferred.
- Prompt, professional, reliable and a team player.
- Able to read, write and speak the English language.
- Able to push wheelchairs.
- Able to be around animals (pets).
- Ability to work with dementia population.
- MDS knowledge a plus.
Activities - Life Enrichment - Recreation Leader Job Summary:
- Lead a program of arts, crafts, and recreation.
- Introduce new projects and activities and encourages resident involvement.
- Assist with resident transport and attend to resident needs during entertainment or outside programs.
- Assure proper care, use, storage and protection of tools and equipment.
- Complete activity assessments.
- Maintain daily attendance/participation of residents.
- Attend recommended workshops, in-services, meetings.
